We had an incredible morning of services at Christ Church that God used to drive home how God uses each of our stories to impact our world.
Jesus, in John 4 engages the woman at the well in Samaria – a place and a people self-righteously avoided by the average Jew. In the course of the self-revealing conversation, Jesus forgets to eat and the woman forgets her waterpot as she runs back to the village.
Known, but loved by Jesus, she shares her story of meeting the Messiah. The response is beautiful: Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did.” So when the Samaritans came to him, they urged him to stay with them, and he stayed two days. And because of his words many more became believers. They said to the woman, “We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Savior of the world.” (John 4:39-42, NIV)
